HOW DID WE CALCULATE THE DATA?
We took a typical example of one of our customer’s buying trips from the UK to the Far East. On their journey they sent 2 product samples back to the UK by sea freight. Once they’ve landed in the UK they then get shipped from the retail’s distribution hubs on to various marketing shoots: eCommerce shoot, PR event, trade show and a TV commercial.
In the second part of the infographic, we compare a typical 1) CGI lifestyle set vs. a local photoshoot, 2) moving image/animation vs. filming in a local studio and 3) a hybrid production vs small-scale TV commercial. All examples are UK based. *The number of people needed on a traditional production shoot vary massively on a case by case basis. For the sake of our illustration - we’ve made assumptions about the average days/crew needed for a small scale production and compared these to the CO2e per day here at Creative Content Works (man + machine power). This includes the operational emissions of that person.
